Expert Option is ideal for new traders seeking access to financial markets via an options broker. The platform is easy to learn, user-friendly, and reliable.
ExpertOption is a binary options broker providing trading on over 100 assets covering currencies, stocks, indices and commodities with variable payouts. Traders can start with just $10 and access an intuitive platform with social trading features, but the lack of regulation means safeguards are limited. Find out how ExpertOption shaped up in our tests.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- The low $10 minimum deposit and easy-access demo account make ExpertOption an attractive option for newer traders and those with a limited budget.
- Standout features include a social trading chart overlay and custom deal durations, streamlining the binary trading experience.
- ExpertOption supports an above-average range of 20+ payment methods, making it a strong choice for international traders seeking convenient deposits and withdrawals.
Cons
- ExpertOption is not regulated by a trusted financial body, so traders should expect limited account and fund safeguards.
- Payouts vary considerably and generally never reached higher than 86% during our tests, noticeably lower than rivals like World Forex, which pays out up to 100%.
- ExpertOption is geared towards day traders with expiries of up to 24 hours, meaning traders taking longer-term setups may need an alternative like IQCent, which has contracts that last 1 month.
Company Details
Established in 2014, ExpertOption.com is operated by EOLabs LLC and is registered in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
In Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the Financial Services Authority (SVGFSA) is the domestic regulator, but this is classified as a ‘tier 4’ body in BinaryOptions.net’s regulator database. Also, the authority itself states it does not supervise retail binary brokers.
ExpertOption is also a member of the Financial Commission, an independent organization that offers a 20,000 EUR compensation fund for resolving disputes. But traders should be aware that this is not a government financial regulator – it’s a private body.
Accounts
ExpertOption offers six account types, with minimum deposits ranging from $10 to $5000. The higher accounts tiers come with additional perks such as priority withdrawals, and daily market research.
- Micro: $10 minimum deposit, educational materials, 5 simultaneous open deals allowed, $10 maximum deal amount.
- Basic: $50 minimum deposit, educational materials, 10 simultaneous open deals allowed, $25 maximum deal amount.
- Silver: $500 minimum deposit, educational materials, daily market reviews and financial research, 15 simultaneous deals allowed, $250 maximum deal amount.
- Gold: $2500 minimum deposit, educational materials, daily market reviews and financial research, priority withdrawals, 30 simultaneous deals allowed, $1000 maximum deal amount.
- Platinum: $5000 minimum deposit, educational materials, daily market reviews and financial research, priority withdrawals, no limit on simultaneous deals, $2000 maximum deal amount.
- Exclusive: Invitation only, all benefits plus a limit on simultaneous deals and $3000 maximum deal amount.
What may be the most limiting element for some traders will be the maximum deal amount, with the Micro solution not accepting trades above $10. Those wanting to trade in sizeable sums will need a higher-tier account and thus a potentially large deposit.
There’s also a demo account funded with $10,000 in virtual funds – a great place to start for prospective clients.
Markets
ExpertOption supports over 100 tradable binary assets. This is a decent selection compared to alternatives like Capitalcore with only 28 assets, though not as competitive as category leader Quotex, with its 250+.
The selection spans forex, stocks, indices, commodities and cryptocurrencies. Alongside popular options like EUR/USD and gold, you also get rarer markets like the Altcoin Index, which provides a view on the overall direction of the crypto market excluding Bitcoin.

Payouts
When we tested the platform during peak hours, we were offered payouts of 86% for OTC contracts on major currency pairs like EUR/USD and 82% on OTC stocks like Intel, though most others like Nike and Goldman Sachs were offered at 76%.
Indices also varied, with maximum payouts of 84% on the Smarty and Football Indexes, whilst the US Dollar Index was much lower at 76%.
Gold and oil were offered at 82% and cryptos ranged from 71% to 76%.
Note that payout rates are dynamic and depend on multiple parameters, such as market volatility and trading volumes, so you need to keep an eye out for changes on the platform.
Overall, after testing the platform during various sessions (peak and off-peak), the payouts are not as competitive as the highest payout binary firms like World Forex.
Expiry Times
Deal durations are available as low as 5 seconds, on par with Pocket Option and making it suitable for ultra short-term binary traders.
However, the maximum expiry time available is only 24 hours, so medium- and long-term traders will be better off with an alternative like IQCent, where durations can be set up to 1 month.
We did appreciate the custom deal duration function during testing, which allows you to set expiry times in hours, minutes and seconds to suit your exact preferences.

Platform
The broker’s proprietary trading terminal is simple yet intuitive and is conveniently available on desktop and mobile applications.
We found the platform straightforward to get to grips with during our use. The charts can be set up in four different ways, including candles and price bars.
The charts include some technical features, but not as many as you’ll find on TradingView-enabled binary platforms. There are 17 advertised trading indicators, plus a handful of basic drawing tools.

Binary web platform
There’s also an integrated education section with a decent selection of introductory educational materials with accompanying short videos.
We particularly like the broker’s social trading function, which allows you to see overall trader sentiment on your chosen asset, plus a useful overlay of other traders’ orders directly on the chart.

Payment Methods
Deposits are easy to make at ExpertOption. The company uses more than 20 different payment systems, including Visa, Mastercard, e-wallets like Skrill and Neteller, bank wire and cryptocurrency payments such as Binance Pay.
Withdrawals are made back to original source, with a minimum requirement of $10 and processing in two days. It may take up to two weeks though, for funds to show back into the account, depending on how the withdrawal was made.
ExpertOption has a bonus program that works a little differently than what we’ve seen elsewhere. The bonus is awarded as a welcome bonus and added to the account immediately.
The catch is that the bonus can never be withdrawn and isn’t even used until the deposited funds are used up. At that time, traders can use the bonus funds to trade until they go positive. Any profits above the bonus amount can be withdrawn.
Customer Support
Customer support is available 24/7 via an in-platform live chat, or via email at help@eo.support.
We tested the live chat multiple times and were connected immediately to a human support agent each time. Responses were also quick and helpful, covering topics like deposits, withdrawals and payout terms.
Should You Trade Binary Options With ExpertOption?
ExpertOption could be a suitable choice for ultra-short-term traders looking for a low barrier to entry, an easy-to-use platform with social trading, and a wide range of assets.
However, the lack of expiry times beyond 24 hours makes the broker unsuitable for longer-term binary traders, while the low maximum trade caps unless you deposit significant sums for a higher-tier account may be limiting.
Additionally, the lack of regulatory oversight should be considered before opening an account.
