GC Option Review 2025
- Min Deposit: $10
- Bonus: Risk Free Trading Days
- Payout: 86%
- Demo Account: Yes
- Expiry Times: 1 minute - 48 hours

GC Option is perfect for binary traders who want to use MetaTrader 4. It's one of the few binary options companies that supports this platform. A $100 deposit is needed to reach 'Gold' status. It's also suitable for short-term traders with contracts from 1 minute to 48 hours.
GC Option offers binary options on 35 forex, crypto and commodity assets with payouts reaching 86%. It’s one of the few brokers to offer binary trading on the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) platform, alongside its WebTrader. On the downside, the range of markets and payouts trails other brokers, while there’s a serious disconnect between the advertised information, and the tools and conditions when you open an account. Find out what our team thought after putting GC Option under the microscope.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- GC Option is one of a handful of MT4 binary brokers, providing a reliable third-party software that’s more advanced in terms of charting tools and features than most web-based platforms.
- The range of crypto binaries is a step up from most firms we’ve evaluated, with trading on assets beyond Bitcoin like Dash, Monero and Zcash.
- The revamped web platform has a user-friendly look and feel with a strong charting package, including 5 chart types, 10 timeframes, and over 65 technical indicators.
Cons
- While the support team is quick to respond, their solutions aren’t always adequate; recommending VPNs to fix software glitches and providing regulatory information that didn’t tally with our own investigations.
- GC Option used to offer more flexible contract options with higher/lower, plus breakout and double touch variations, catering to different trading strategies, but now it just provides higher/lower trades.
- To use MT4 and access perks like early trade closures, you need to qualify for a Gold or VIP account, which requires a steeper minimum deposit of over $100.
- GC Option charges a monthly fee of $300 after three months of no trading, making it the largest and most punitive inactivity fee we’ve seen.
Company Details
GC Option is part of Grand Capital and operates as the company’s binary brand. It was established in 2012 and is based in the Seychelles.
GC Option is effectively unregulated. The Financial Services Authority (FSA) in Seychelles does not oversee it, despite a support agent telling one of our testers that it was “of course” regulated there, though they did later concede they had “misled” us.
And even it did, the Seychelles FSA is a ‘tier 4’ body in our regulator database, meaning it’s based offshore and provides limited safeguards.
Its parent company, Grand Capital, is a member of the Financial Commission (FinaCom), a private dispute-resolution body, but this is not a government regulator.

GC Option also offers risk-free binary options trading through a demo account.
The paper trading profile comes with a $10,000 virtual bankroll and can be used to test the brand’s WebTrader platform. The MT4 platform is not available in the demo environment.
We’ve used the demo account in multiple rounds of tests, and while it’s previously been reasonable, we encountered a series of issues in our last trials. The web platform took several minutes to load, and when it did, the charts wouldn’t display so technical analysis was tricky.
We could, and did, place short-term trades on forex and crypto, and the closed orders correctly noted our wins and losses, but it was still a frustrating experience. Even basic typos in the platform interface like ‘investment’ being spelled ‘Investition’ didn’t make for a polished, let alone professional trading experience.
After querying with support, it turned out that the platform had been discontinued, and we shouldn’t have been able to access it. I wish we hadn’t – it would have saved us time and frustration.
Markets
GC Option has expanded its suite of binaries over the years, now offering over 35 instruments (more than it advertises on its website):
- 25+ forex pairs, including majors like EUR/USD, USD/JPY and GBP/USD
- 2 metals (gold and silver)
- 8 cryptos paired with the US Dollar, including Bitcoin and Monero
From a user experience perspective, the fact that the instruments aren’t ordered or separated by market, e.g. ‘forex’ or ‘crypto’ is frustrating because it means they’re all jumbled up in a long list.
Breakout, double touch and express options have been discontinued by GC Option too, which provided more flexibility to trading strategies.
Payouts
Payouts generally start from 60% with various cryptocurrencies and gold, climbing to a maximum of 86% on the EUR/USD pair. Most major currency pairs pay out 85%.
These payouts are fairly competitive, but some alternatives, including Quotex, offer payouts of over 90%.
Traders can also end a winning binary trade early and receive a 40% payoff, or a refund of 10% of their stake if they close a losing position early. Though this is only available on MT4, not the web-based platform.

Payouts are shown under each asset in the platform
Expiry Times
The contract lengths offered by GC Option range from 1 minute to 2,880 minutes (equivalent to 2 days), making it geared towards short-term traders.
However, it doesn’t offer contracts as short as brokers like Pocket Option with expiries from 5 seconds and it doesn’t offer expiries as long as alternatives like CloseOption with expiries of a month.
Platform
Traders can choose between its WebTrader and MetaTrader 4, with MT4 only available to Gold and VIP traders.
In our testing, the broker’s WebTrader emerged as the best fit for beginners. The terminal is user-friendly with straightforward navigation features.
The platform offers one-click trading, 5 customizable charts, plus over 65 drawing tools and technical indicators.
My only gripe during testing was that the full-screen mode didn’t work, which leaves you with a fairly small charting view for technical analysis and overlays.

WebTrader
MetaTrader 4 is the other option and a popular third-party platform. Available as a software download to computers and mobile apps, or accessible via major web browsers, MT4 offers rich analysis and algo trading features.
MT4 is home to 30 built-in indicators, 23 analytical objects, and 9 timeframes. Expert Advisors (EAs) are also supported, alongside trading signals from other investors.
Payment Methods
Traders can use a range of payment methods to fund their GC Option account, with the company accepting bank transfers from several African banks, as well as cryptocurrencies, e-wallets, and debit/credit cards.
Customers can deposit via Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, and Binance Pay. Traders can also use e-wallets like FasaPay, Help2Pay, and Thunder X. In addition, bank cards are accepted.
Several digital payment solutions and bank cards facilitate fee-free deposits in 15 minutes, while wire transfers can take 1 day and may incur a small charge.
Withdrawals can generally be made using the same methods as deposits, with payments to electronic systems often taking up to 3 days, and withdrawals typically taking 1 day.
The catch is that some withdrawal options incur a charge, notably Thunder X with a 1.5% commission.
Customer Support
Customer support is fast but inconsistent. On more than five occasions, we reached a live-chat agent in under two minutes and staff were polite and eager to help.
However, we have accuracy concerns. On one occasion, an agent initially claimed the company was regulated, then corrected themselves.
Several of our queries also stemmed from platform glitches and mismatches between the website/marketing and what we could verify in their tools. For example, the homepage refers to ‘Classic’ and ‘Pro’ platforms, but we only found a single WebTrader during use, plus MT4.
GC Option could do with spending resource on making sure their website and marketing materials match the experience you get when you open an account.
Should You Trade Binary Options With GC Option?
GC Option offers fairly decent payouts and tempting benefits for high-tier members, including early trade closures. The integration with MetaTrader 4 also helps it stand out among binary brokers.
However, the withdrawal charges and the hefty $300 monthly inactivity fee are notable drawbacks. The disconnects between the information advertised around tools and what’s actually available also need addressing.
